Jean has 18 years of derivatives experience. Before co-founding Valere Capital in 2008, he was Managing Director and Co-Head of Structured Credit at RBC where he oversaw all structured credit and debt principal finance activities of Royal Bank of Canada globally.
David had a 25 year career, primarily for the investment banking arm of Credit Suisse where he was a Managing Director in the Fixed Income Division overseeing groups trading emerging market debt & FX. He joined Valere in 2014 as a consultant before becoming a Principal in 2017.
Gerald had a 20 year career, primarily in senior positions at the investment banking arms of Royal Bank of Canada and HVB Group and the investment bank Bear Stearns where he was a Managing Director in the Derivatives Department. He joined Valere in 2009 as a Principal.
Matthias has worked in the financial markets for 30 years. He was a derivatives trader at BNP Paribas and Bear Stearns for 16 years before founding Clear Alpha, an asset management and consulting firm specialised in systematic strategies, in 2010. Matthias joined Valere Capital in 2021.
Aniko is a highly skilled professional with a robust background in finance, operations, and technology. With a proven track record of scaling businesses, she has successfully overseen key functions including Compliance, Operations, and Technology. As Chief Operating Officer at Valere, Aniko plays a critical role in driving the firm’s strategic initiatives while ensuring effective governance across all business functions.
Victoria has nearly 15 years of extensive recruitment expertise. She has primarily worked with external consultancies, collaborating closely with various professionals with the professional services sector. Victoria is Director of Operations and is responsible for driving the creation of business-centric operation functions.
Shaun comes from a legal background, he has extensive experience as a Litigation Executive within a reputable law firm where he worked on complex injury claims. Shaun joined Valere Capital in 2023, where he works closely with the Partners and provides support to our experts on case management and report writing.
Vanessa is a dispute resolution lawyer and has experience working on international arbitration cases governed under the UNCITRAL, ICSID, ICC, LCIA, SIAC and HKIAC rules, including complex commercial cases and investor-State disputes claiming under international investment agreements, representing multinational companies, governments, state-owned entities across sectors. Vanessa holds a first-class degree in Politics, a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from The University of Hong Kong, and a Master of Laws (LLM) from Columbia Law School.
Bianca has a strong legal background and was called to the Bar of England and Wales (unregistered) by the Inner Temple in 2022. She brings extensive experience from her time in the disputes team of a global law firm, where she focused primarily on public and regulatory matters, while also gaining exposure to banking and financial services, white-collar crime, and tax-related cases. Bianca holds an LLM from Queen Mary University of London and an LLB in European Legal Studies from the University of Southampton.
Kevin comes from a financial markets background, with long-standing experience in derivatives trading, fund management, consulting, and litigation support. He has held senior roles in both London and Paris during his 30 years in the industry. At Valere Capital, Kevin works closely with the Partners and experts, ensuring that case analysis, expert opinion and reporting are delivered to the highest professional standards.
Katy has over 10 years of experience in recruitment and HR, with a strong focus on legal recruitment. She is both CIPD qualified in HR management and REC qualified. Throughout her career, Katy has successfully placed numerous professionals in various roles. She works alongside Victoria Fletcher on the recruitment of expert witnesses, leveraging her legal recruitment background to identify experts in their field.
Mai joins us as a Resourcer, where she is instrumental in sourcing experts across a wide range of sectors to support the mandates we receive.

De’Yonti is a seasoned professional with over nine years of experience in the financial and legal sectors. Specialising in Tort Law as a paralegal, she has played a pivotal role in the successful resolution of personal injury and housing cases, contributing as second chair in both mediation and court proceedings. De’Yonti holds a BA in Sociology and Criminology from The University of Manchester and a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from BPP.
Natasha has a professional background with experience as an Executive Personal Assistance and in Property Management. She has gained experience working for an Investment Bank, an International Auditing company, and a Nationwide Estate Agent. Natasha is responsible for Client Engagement at Valere Capital.
